Assistant Greenkeeper

The club is seeking keen individuals to add to our greenkeeping team who will be responsible for daily golf course maintenance, with a can do attitude towards future projects and keen interest interest to improve their skills. Reporting to the Head Greenkeeper and carrying out tasks safely and in line with club policies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Cutting greens, tees, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
  • Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, raking bunkers, switch and brush greens.
  • In house project work.
  • Prepare and maintain machinery daily.
  • Mainly Monday - Friday with the a weekend rota.

Desirable Candidate:

  • Previous greenkeeping/landscaping experience preferred.
  • Willingness for personal development and further training.
  • Chainsaw course provided to successful candidate.
  • Spraying course provided to successful candidate.

Deputy Course Manager

Successful candidate will work alongside our Course Manager. This position requires an experienced, multi-skilled, hands on and professional individual with good management and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail and quality control.

Our ideal candidate will also possess/be able to demonstrate:

  • NVQ Level 3 in sports turf, but may consider candidates working towards level 3
  • PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certification
  • Qualified CS30 & CS31 chainsaw operator (desirable but not essential)
  • ‘First Aid at Work’ qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • General knowledge of all associated Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience with an automatic irrigation system
  • General understanding and use of a wide range of turf machinery
  • Relevant IT skills, record keeping and report writing skills
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours, including a weekend rota
